My lovely girlfriend and I have been searching for a church for a while now and we have decided to let everyone in on our search. As we visit a church each Sunday we will each write a post about it and we would love to hear some feeback about our feelings towards the church. Also if you attend a church and you think it might be good for us, please let us know.

What do you look for in a church?

Sorry I have not been more on the ball with these posts but our church search has taken some interesting turns and some were hard to deal with. A church we were going to and liking kind of fell through over a belief that they had and that I do not really agree with. This whole experience got me thinking of what Lindsey and I should be looking for in our new church? I am sure Lindsey and I will be talking about this soon but I wanted to put this out there to our adoring fans, What do you look for in a church? What are your list of must haves for a church? What kind of things would make you not want to attend a church?

We look forward to what you have to say

  1. Glad to hear from you! I've missed your posts. :) The main thing we look for in a church is doctrine that is biblically based, that their foundation is found in the Word of God. One thing that is a non-negotiable is believer's baptism and woman pastors. I firmly believe that baptism comes after a person's profession of faith, therefore infant baptism just doesn't work for me. I also believe God has an order for things and that men should hold the ordained positions of church. That is not to say that women cannot be teachers, leaders, etc., it's just the ordained positions I believe that God holds just for men.

Other than that, a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for ALL people is certainly something we look for. Since we travel so much, that means a lot to us.

    Thanks for asking!
